What did the doctor say?

Posted: under Short Funny Jokes.

A woman accompanied her husband to the doctor’s office.

After his checkup, the doctor called the wife into his office alone. He said, “Your husband is suffering from a very severe stress disorder. If you don’t do the following, your husband will surely die.”

“Each morning, fix him a healthy breakfast. Be pleasant at all times. For lunch make him a nutritious meal. For dinner prepare an especially nice meal for him. Don’t burden him with chores. Don’t discuss your problems with him, it will only make his stress worse. No nagging. And most importantly, make love with your husband several times a week.

If you can do this for the next 10 months to a year, I think your husband will regain his health completely.”

On the way home, the husband asked his wife.

“What did the doctor say?”

“He said you’re going to die,” she replied.

A woman and her husband interrupted their vacation to go to the dentist.

“I want a tooth pulled, and I don’t want Novocaine because I’m in a big hurry,” the woman said. “Just extract the tooth as quickly as possible, and we’ll be on our way.”

The dentist was quite impressed. “You’re certainly a courageous woman,” he said. “Which tooth is it?”

The woman turned to her husband and said, “Show him your tooth, dear.”

A charitable feeling, when put into action, will find you generously donating your time and resources to help those who are less fortunate. This will give you a satisfying feeling of benevolence as you connect yourself to a giving and nourishing energy. As you give, you become part of the cycle of giving and receiving, which is inseparable. So while you may be attempting to give unselfishly, there is a reward involved that cannot be denied. It is all part of the world of duality—every coin has two sides, every emotion or energy has an opposite. As you give today, you will receive on many levels of your experience.

When we give to people who are less fortunate than us, we experience both sides of the coin at once. Not only do we experience both giving and receiving, but to some extent we are able to experience the opposite of the abundance we are sharing. We may not truly

One of the Best Prayer I Have Heard In A Long Time…

****

Heavenly Father, Help us remember that the lady who cut us off in
traffic last night is a single mother who worked nine hours that day and
is rushing home to cook dinner, help with homework, do the laundry and
spend a few precious moments with her children.

**

Help us to remember that the pierced, tattooed, disinterested
young man who can’t make change correctly is a worried 19-year-old
college student, balancing his apprehension over final exams with his
fear of not getting his student loans for next semester.

**

Remind us, Lord, that the scary looking bum, begging for money in
the same spot every day (who really ought to get a job!) is a slave to
addictions that we can only imagine in our worst nightmares.

**

Help us to remember that the old couple walking annoyingly slow
through the store aisles and blocking our shopping progress are savoring

EVERYTHING COUNTS

Early 20th Century African-American poet Countee Cullen spent the
summer of his eighth year in Baltimore, Maryland. Shortly after he
arrived he noticed a little white boy staring at him. Countee smiled,
but the little boy did not smile back. Instead, he stuck out his
tongue and called him a hurtful, racial slur.

..

Cullen later wrote a poem that included his recollection of the summer
when he was eight. In it, he says this:

..

“I saw the whole of Baltimore
from May until September.
Of everything that happened there
that’s all I can remember.”

..

The white child likely soon forgot the episode. And he probably never
was aware of the pain he inflicted on the young stranger. But the
truth is… everything counts. EVERYTHING. Everything we do and
everything we say. Everything helps or hurts; everything adds to or
takes away from someone else.

..

Educator and writer Leo Buscaglia put it like this: “The majority of
us lead quiet, unheralded lives as we pass through this world. There
