Sharing a dear friend’s thoughts with YOU!
..
Perspective - One only needs to take the time to go and visit a Nursing Home to understand the true meaning of some of the important Life Lessons we may end up missing because our eyes are not open enough to appreciate the little things. There are many there who have stood the test of time, yet never experienced the heartfelt treasure of the Universal Gift. Sometimes choices were made, sometimes it was just the hand that was dealt in someones life to achieve all but the Universal Gift.
..
It is great to Dream Big, set goals and High Expectations for ourselves. There sometimes is a tendency to push away this Universal Gift because it doesn’t come in the package we want, doesn’t come at the right time or place that we have deemed acceptable for ourselves. We go from being not picky to too picky as to what, how and when we will accept this offering of a Universal Gift. It was meant to be shared, not hoarded, misused, abused or discarded.
..
So when it really comes down to it, the Universal Gift is about being Loved at some point in your Life that the thoughts/memories brings about that warm fuzzy feeling, your heart sings, your eyes sparkle, your toes snap, crackle n’ pop with delight and a smile spreads across your face like a

God is able to do……
What I ask.
All I ask.
More than all I ask.
Immeasurably more than all I ask.
What I can imagine.
All I imagine.
More than all I imagine.
Immeasurably more than all I ask or imagine.

This power of God’s is not merely an abstract capability He reserves for creating planets and universes. He is also at work within us who are His children. Yes, His power lives inside us, working from the inside out. Our part is:
*** to cooperate with what He is doing

1. Your thumb is nearest to you. So begin your prayers by praying for those closest to you. They are the easiest to remember. To pray for our loved ones is, as C.S. Lewis once said, “a sweet duty.”
2. The next finger is the pointing finger. Pray for those who teach, instruct and heal. This includes teachers, doctors, and ministers. They need support and wisdom in pointing others in the right direction. Keep them in your prayers.
3. The next finger is the tallest finger. It reminds us of our leaders. Pray for the president, leaders in business and industry, and administrators. These people shape our nation and guide public opinion. They need God’s guidance.
4. The fourth finger is our ring finger. Surprising to many is the fact that this is our weakest finger; as any piano teacher will testify. It should remind us to pray for those who are weak, in trouble or in pain. They need your prayers day and night. You cannot pray too much for them.
5. And lastly comes our little finger, the smallest finger of all, which is where we should place ourselves in relation to God and others. As the Bible says, “The least shall be the greatest among you.” Your pinkie should remind you to pray for yourself. By the time you have prayed for the other four groups, your own needs will be put into proper perspective and you will be able to pray for yourself more effectively.

There was a man who had four sons. He wanted his sons to learn not to judge
things too quickly. So he sent them each on a quest, in turn, to go and look
at a pear tree that was a great distance away.
The first son went in the winter, the second in the spring, the third in
summer, and the youngest son in the fall. When they had all gone and come back,
he called them together to describe what they had seen.
The first son said that the tree was ugly, bent, and twisted. The second son
said no it was covered with green buds and full of promise. The third son disagreed;
he said it was laden with blossoms that smelled so sweet and looked so beautiful,
it was the most graceful thing he had ever seen. The last son disagreed with all
of them; he said it was ripe and drooping with fruit, full of life and fulfillment.
The man then explained to his sons that they were all right, because they
had each seen but only one season in the tree’s life. He told them that you
cannot judge a tree, or a person, by only one season, and that the essence of
who they are and the pleasure, joy, and love that come from that life can only
be measured at the end, when all the seasons are up.
If you give up when it’s winter, you will miss the promise of your spring,
the beauty of your summer, fulfillment of your fall.
Moral:
Don’t let the pain of one season destroy
the joy of all the rest.
Don’t judge life by one difficult season.
Persevere through the difficult patches
and better times are sure to come
some time or later.
