I AM THANKFUL‏

FOR THE WIFE
WHO SAYS IT’S HOT DOGS TONIGHT,
BECAUSE SHE IS HOME WITH ME,
AND NOT OUT WITH SOMEONE ELSE.

<><><>

FOR THE HUSBAND
WHO IS ON THE SOFA
BEING A COUCH POTATO,
BECAUSE HE IS HOME WITH ME
AND NOT OUT AT THE BARS.

<><><>

FOR THE TEENAGER
WHO IS COMPLAINING ABOUT DOING DISHES
BECAUSE IT MEANS HE IS AT
HOME,
NOT ON THE STREETS.

<><><>

FOR THE TAXES I
PAY
BECAUSE IT MEANS
I AM EMPLOYED.

<><><>

FOR THE MESS TO CLEAN AFTER A
PARTY
BECAUSE IT MEANS I
HAVE
BEEN SURROUNDED BY
FRIENDS.

<><><>

FOR THE CLOTHES THAT FIT A LITTLE
TOO SNUG
BECAUSE IT
MEANS
I HAVE ENOUGH TO
EAT.

<><><>

FOR MY SHADOW THAT WATCHES ME
WORK
BECAUSE IT
MEANS
I AM OUT IN THE
SUNSHINE.

<><><>

FOR A LAWN THAT NEEDS
MOWING,
WINDOWS THAT NEED
CLEANING,
AND GUTTERS THAT NEED
FIXING
BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE A
HOME.

<><><>

FOR ALL THE
COMPLAINING
I HEAR ABOUT THE
GOVERNMENT
BECAUSE IT
MEANS
WE HAVE FREEDOM OF
SPEECH.

<><><>

FOR THE PARKING SPOT
I FIND AT THE FAR END OF THE
PARKING LOT
BECAUSE IT MEANS I AM CAPABLE OF
WALKING
AND I HAVE BEEN BLESSED WITH
TRANSPORTATION.

<><><>

FOR MY HUGE HEATING
BILL
BECAUSE IT MEANS
I AM WARM.

<><><>

FOR THE LADY BEHIND ME IN
CHURCH
WHO SINGS OFF KEY BECAUSE IT
MEANS
I CAN HEAR.

<><><>

FOR THE PILE OF LAUNDRY AND
IRONING
BECAUSE IT MEANS
I HAVE CLOTHES TO WEAR.

<><><>

FOR WEARINESS AND ACHING MUSCLES
AT THE END OF THE DAY
BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE
BEEN
CAPABLE OF WORKING HARD.

<><><>

FOR THE ALARM THAT GOES OFF
IN THE EARLY MORNING HOURS
BECAUSE IT MEANS I AM
ALIVE.

<><><>

AND FINALLY, FOR TOO MUCH E-MAIL
BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE
FRIENDS WHO ARE THINKING OF ME.

OUR REFUGE AND STRENGTH

Our Refuge and Strength
(Psalm 46)

+ + +

Lord we can come to You
And find shelter from the storms of life
For You are always present to help
To protect us from trouble and strife

Though the earth vanish from sight
And the mountains are carried away
Yet will we not be afraid
For You are our hope and stay

If the waters begin to roar
And there is trouble all about
There is One who will help us
When we are filled with doubt

God walks in our midst
To comfort and to guide
Our enemies will be defeated
If in Him we will abide

Come now and behold
What for us the Lord has done
How He destroyed the heathen nations
Before the going down of the sun

He made the wars to cease
In the land that to us He did give
He destroyed the enemies weapons
So that we could peacefully live

Be still my faithful children
Do not fear what lies ahead
For I am the true and living God
There is nothing for you to dread

FACING THE FACTS‏

Posted: under Inspirationals.

The facts of any situation include the hopelessness of the difficulty we face, but they also include the reality of God’s power to work in our impossible situation. Someone said,

*** LOOK AROUND—-AND BE DISTRESSED,

*** LOOK WITHIN—-AND BE DEPRESSED,

*** LOOK TO JESUS—-AND BE AT REST.

In fact, that’s the only way we can be at rest when we face an impossible situation: Look to Jesus. Focus on Him instead of on the circumstances. Fill our mind with God’s Word. Concentrate our attention on His promises.

Yes, faith means that we face reality—-and then make a conscious choice to believe and trust God. The battle is NOT ours—-it’s the Lord’s! Let GO—and Let GOD! Let’s exercise strong faith in GOD for the remainder of 2008….and beyond!

Happy and safe Day, my dear friends! Be richly Blessed!
