Abby knew that God hadn’t lost her weight for her, but He sure helped her be able to lose it. When she felt most like giving up, He encouraged her and gave her the will to go on. When she was most tempted to break her diet, He reminded her of how important it was to stick with it. When the pounds began to fall, He filled her
with a deep joy that insured she would continue. She never forgot to pray, whether it was for help, for strength, or for thanksgiving. Abby hadn’t lost the weight all by herself. God helped more than she could ever know.

4 Healthy Snacks
Snacking during the day can be a healthy habit, as it can help to keep blood sugar and energy levels steady. However, what you choose to snack on is important - use the four suggestions below for some healthy snack ideas. And don’t miss next Monday’s Daily Tip for Four Snacks to Avoid.
Berries. They are sweet, easy to pop into your mouth, and a much healthier choice than a candy bar. Raspberries, blueberries, strawberries and blackberries are all anti-inflammatory, rich in flavonoids and carotenoids, and offer immune-boosting antioxidant activity.
Crudités. The fiber in veggies will help fill you up, and they provide a nice, satisfying crunch. Choose a wide range of colors (broccoli, cauliflower and carrots are good choices) and serve with low- or non-fat plain yogurt - add some fresh herbs and seasonings for flavor.
Nuts. When eaten sparingly, nuts are a terrific snack. Walnuts are one of Dr. Weil’s favorites, as they are rich in omega-3 fatty acids. Almonds and roasted soy nuts are also good choices. Nuts can be high in calories and fat (even if it’s the healthy monounsaturated kind) so don’t overindulge.
Dark chocolate. An ounce of dark chocolate now and then will satisfy a sweet tooth while providing antioxidant polyphenols. Choose high quality dark chocolate with at least 70 percent pure cocoa, and enjoy the rich flavor.
