WE were immigrants to Brazil. All that we had in common with the other people in Brazil was that we spoke the same language.

On our first Sunday, I woke up early. I said to my husband and son, “All of us should go and pray in the house of the Lord. We should seek God’s blessings for our survival in this new land and ask for God’s guidance.”

My husband said that we did not have sufficient knowledge of this big city, Rio de Janeiro, to find our way to a church. I told my husband that the good Lord would lead us.

We left the place where we were staying and wandered aimlessly through the streets. I had a Bible in my hand. When we had crossed some roads, I saw a lad in front of us. He was also carrying a Bible. I approached him and asked if he was going to church. He was. My joy knew no bounds! I said to myself, Here is the Lord’s answer.
