Look Into Your Eyes
====================
.
I was online to renew my passport.

.

I answered question after question. Most were simple questions
that were easily answered, but then it got to a hard one.

.

What color are your eyes?

.

I didn’t know the answer!

.

Now you may ask, “What kind of man doesn’t know what color his
eyes are?”

.

Were my eyes black or brown?

.

I honestly didn’t know. I’m sure that I once did, but I
certainly
wouldn’t bet a large sum of money on a guess right then.
I couldn’t remember what color my eyes were.

.

It reminded me of the lawyer cross-examining a witness in court
and to prove that his memory was unreliable, he put his hand on
the man’s neck shielding his tie from his view and asked him,
“What color tie do you have on?”

.

Needless to say, the witness didn’t know. I hear you saying,
“But your eye color isn’t like that tie!” Well, actually it
was, because I didn’t know what color they were.

.

My wife was out of town with the kids visiting her parents.
I was the only one in the house. So I did what any man would do
who couldn’t remember his eye color and didn’t have anyone
close who could look into his eyes and tell him.

TURN YOUR SECURITY SYSTEM ON!

A horrible thing happened to me today…..a thief broke into my house.

.

It happened shortly after I awoke this morning. I got up and began rushing about. I had a thousand things on my list and was already running behind. Quickly, I gulped down breakfast, took a shower and got ready for work.

.

In my rush, I forgot to turn the security system on at my house. It was just about a half an hour later that the thief broke in. Of course, he didn’t make a sound. Just kind of snuck inside, not drawing any attention to himself. In fact, none of the neighbors ever saw him.

.

But, I did.

.

You see, I WAS HOME when the thief broke in.

.

He naturally startled me, as I was unprepared for his visit. He, of course, didn’t announce that he was coming and I certainly had not invited him over.

.

And yet, I found myself face to face with danger and I felt so powerless. I also felt so very stupid, because this whole incident could have been avoided

A sign in a pet store read, “If anybody has seen the Bluebird of
Happiness, would you please notify this pet store?”

..

Happiness seems to be in short supply for many people. If the
results of recent surveys can be trusted, there is a general decline
of happiness in today’s world. And people were not all that
cheerful a few years back! It was Oliver Wendell Holmes who stated,
“I might have been a minister for aught I know, if a certain
clergyman had not looked and talked like an undertaker.” (I have to
say, though, that some clergy and undertakers I’ve known could teach
the rest of us something about joy.)

..

Joy and happiness are not always the same things. Happiness can be
thought of as more of a temporary, emotional condition, often based
on outside circumstances. Joy, on the other hand, is deeper. It is
often contentment in spite of the unsettling present. We can be
basically joyful, regardless of a particular unhappy situation that
we may be enduring. It is sometimes just a matter of keeping
perspective on our troubles, and especially when those troubles
seem to be in long supply.

You may know the story of the man who had a marvelous way of keeping
joy in his life. He was a carpenter. He followed the same ritual
every day when he came home from the job. He stopped by a small tree

The Lord is my real Boss, and I shall not want.

He gives me peace, when chaos is all around me.
He gently reminds me to pray and do all things without murmuring and complaining.

He reminds me that He is my Source and not my employer.
He restores my sanity everyday and guides my decisions that I might honor Him in all that I do.

PinkBible.jpg Pink Bible image by Catwoman1010

“I can master it,” said the Axe. His blows fell heavy on the hard, strong steel. But each blow only made his edge more blunt until he ceased to strike.

.

“Leave it to me,” said the Saw. With his relentless teeth, he worked back and forth. But to his dismay, all of his teeth were worn out or broken off.

.

“Ha!” said the Hammer. “I knew you could not do this. Let me show you how.” But with the very first blow, his head flew off, and the steel was unchanged.

.

“Shall I try?” asked the Flame. And it curled itself gently around the strong, hard
