+++++

In Remembrance of 9-11…

* * * * *

.

.

You say you will never forget where you were when you heard the news On September 11, 2001.

Neither will I.

.

I was on the 110th floor in a smoke filled room with a man who called his wife to say,

.

“Good-bye.”

.

I held his fingers steady as he dialed.

.

I gave him the peace to say,

.

“Honey, I am not going to make it, but it is OK…I am ready to go.”

.

I was with his wife when he called as she fed breakfast to their children. I held her up as she tried to understand his words and as she realized he wasn’t coming home that night.

.

I was in the stairwell of the 23rd floor when a woman cried out to Me for help.

.

“I have been knocking on the door of your heart for 50 years!”

.

I said. “Of course I will show you the way home - only believe in Me now.”

.

I was at the base of the building with the Priest ministering to the injured and devastated souls.

.

I took him home to tend to his Flock in Heaven. He heard my voice and answered.

.

I was on all four of those planes, in every seat, with every prayer. I was with the crew as they were overtaken.

.

I was in the very hearts of the believers there, comforting and assuring them that their faith had saved them.

.

I was in Texas, Kansas, and London. I was standing next to you when you heard the terrible news.

.

Did you sense Me?

.

I want you to know that I saw every face. I knew every name -though not all knew Me.

.

Some met Me for the first time on the 86th floor.

.

Some sought Me with their last breath. Some couldn’t hear Me calling to them through the smoke

 and flames;

.

“Come to Me… this way… take my hand.”

.

Some chose, for the final time, to ignore Me.

.

But, I was there.

.

I did not place you in the Tower that day. You may not know why, but I do.

.

However, if you were there in that explosive moment in time would you have reached for Me?

.

September 11, 2001 was not the end of the journey for you.

.

”Never forget. Each of your words is like a feather in the wind. Once spoken, no

amount of effort, regardless how heartfelt or sincere, can ever

return them to your mouth. Choose your words well and guard

them most of all in the presence of those you love.”

Choose Your Words Well

================================

.

A certain good woman one day said something that hurt her best
friend of many years. She regretted it immediately and would
have done anything to have taken the words back. But they were
said impulsively in a moment of thoughtlessness, and as close
as she and her friend were, she didn’t consider the effects of
her words before hand.
.
What she said hurt the friend so much that this good woman was
herself hurt for the pain she caused. In her effort to undo
what she had done, she went to an older, wiser woman in the
village, explained her situation, and asked for advice.
.
The older woman listened patiently in an effort to determine
just how sincere the younger woman was, how far she was willing
to go to correct the situation. She explained that sometimes,
in order to put things back in order, great efforts must be made.
.
She then asked, “Just what would you be willing to do to repair
the harm done?” The answer was heartfelt. “Anything!”
.
Listening to her, the older woman sensed the younger woman’s
distress and knew she must help her. She also knew she could
never alleviate her pain by living her life for her, but she
could teach, if the younger woman would first listen and then
learn.
.
She knew the outcome would depend solely on the character of the
younger woman. She said, “There are two things you need to do to
make amends. The first of the two is extremely difficult.
.
Tonight, take your best feather pillows and open a small hole
in each one. Then, before the sun rises, you must put a single
feather on the doorstep of each house in town.
.
When you are through, come back to me. If you’ve done the first
thing completely, I’ll tell you the second.”
.
The young woman hurried home to prepare for her chore, even
though the pillows were very dear to her and very expensive.
.
All night long, she labored alone in the cold. She went from
doorstep to doorstep, taking care not to overlook a single
house. Her fingers were frozen, the wind was so sharp it caused
her eyes to water, but she ran on through the darkened streets,
thankful there was something she could do to put things back the
way they once were.
.
Finally as the sky was getting light, she placed the last
feather on the steps of the last house. Just as the sun rose,
she returned to the older woman.
.
She was exhausted but relieved that her efforts would be
rewarded.
.
“My pillows are empty. I placed a feather on the doorstep of

Persons going to music festivals seldom think about the positive health effects that music imparts. As the research continues the body of evidence increasingly shows that music has many positive health benefits.  Music is one of the few activities that involve using the whole brain.  It is intrinsic to all cultures and can have surprising benefits not only for learning language, improving memory and focusing attention, but also for physical coordination and development.

.

Music can be distracting if it is too loud or too jarring, or if it competes for our attention with what we’re trying to do, but for the most part, exposure to many kinds of music has beneficial effects.

.

Music Heals

.

Listening to music can reduce chronic pain from a range of painful conditions, including osteoarthritis, disc problems and rheumatoid arthritis, by up to 21% and depression by up to 25%, according to a paper in the UK-based Journal of Advanced Nursing.  Music therapy is increasingly used in hospitals to reduce the need for medication during childbirth, to decrease post-operative pain and complement the use of anesthesia during surgery.  There are several theories about how music positively affects perceived pain:

.

Music Serves as a Distractor

.

Music may give the patient a sense of control.

.

Music causes the body to release endorphins to counteract pain.

.

Slow music relaxes a person by slowing their breathing and heartbeat.

A poor couple who lived in a small village in Southern KENYA had only one son. They gave him the education they managed to afford and their son graduated as an Engineer from the nearby University..

.

Eventually, he got married to a rich girl.

.

Initially, they lived with his parents in the village. Soon the wife got tired of village life and persuaded the husband to move to the city and leave his old parents behind.

.

As time passed by the husband saw an advertisement in the newspaper about a vacancy in Juba (Sudan).

.

The Mother prayed God’s blessings for him and begged him not to forget them. He was successful and lived in Juba for years with his wife. Regularly, in the beginning, he sent money to his parents.

.

Eventually with time, he stopped and forgot that his parents ever existed. Every Sunday he went to church to pray to God.  Everytime, immediately after prayer, he always envision someone in his dream, telling him that his prayer was not accepted.

.

One day he related his story to his Pastor who advised him to go back to Kenya to visit his parents.

.

The man flew to Sudan and reached the boundary of the village. Everything had changed. He could not locate his parents’ house. He asked a young boy about the whereabouts of his parents.

.

The boy directed the man to a house and said: “In this house lives an old blind lady who lost her husband five years ago. I
also hear people saying that, she has a son who migrated to Sudan 40 years ago and never came back again.” The boy continued, “The Old lady has always been crying, longing to see her son.”  The son kept quiet and entered the home finding his mother on the
bed. He tip-toed as not to wake her up.

.

He heard the mother whispering or mumbling something. He got closer to hear her voice. This is what the mother was saying:

A frail old man went to live with his son, daughter-in-law, and a four-year old grandson. The old man’s hands trembled, his eyesight was blurred, and his step faltered.

..

The family ate together nightly at the dinner table. But the elderly grandfather’s shaky hands and failing sight made eating rather difficult. Peas rolled off his spoon onto the floor. When he grasped the glass often milk spilled on the tablecloth.

..

The son and daughter-in-law became irritated with the mess. “We must do something about grandfather,” said the son. I’ve had enough of his spilled milk, noisy eating, and food on the floor. So the husband and wife set a small table in the corner.

..

There, grandfather ate alone while the rest of the family enjoyed dinner at the dinner table. Since grandfather had broken a dish or two, his food was served in a wooden bowl. Sometimes when the family glanced in grandfather’s direction, he had a tear in his eye as he ate alone. Still, the only words the couple had for him were sharp admonitions when he dropped a fork or spilled food.

..

The four-year-old watched it all in silence.

..

One evening before supper, the father noticed his son playing with wood scraps on the floor. He asked the child sweetly, “What are you making?” Just as sweetly, the boy responded, “Oh, I am making a little bowl for you and mama to eat your food from when I grow up.” The four-year-old smiled and went back to work.

..

The words so struck the parents that they were speechless. Then tears started to stream down their cheeks. Though no word was spoken, both knew what must be done. That evening the husband took grandfather’s hand and gently led him back to the family table.

..

For the remainder of his days he ate every meal with the family. And for some reason, neither
