You could find yourself enjoying your friends and family, maybe while participating in outdoor or recreational activities. Your happiness may cause you to step back for a moment to take it all in, and you are likely to discover that you are quite pleased and contented with your life. We spend so much time planning and preparing for the future that we don’t always let ourselves enjoy the moment. We may even be causing ourselves undue stress by worrying about the future. But if we can make a regular practice of stepping back from our thoughts to look around at the present moment, we can begin to appreciate all the good that we have immediately at hand. By taking the time to observe yourself and your life, you can appreciate all that you have.
