5 Ways God Uses Problems
……
The problems you face will either defeat you or develop you – depending on how you respond to them.
.
Unfortunately, most people fail to see how God wants to use problems for good in their lives. They react foolishly and resent their problems rather than pausing to consider what benefit they might bring. .
Here are five ways God wants to use the problems in your life:
.
1. God uses problems to DIRECT you.
.
Sometimes God must light a fire under you to get you moving. Problems often point us in a new direction and motivate us to change. Is God trying to get your attention?
.
Sometimes it takes a painful situation to make us change our ways. (Read Proverbs 20:30)
.
2. God uses problems to INSPECT you.
.
People are like tea bags…if you want to know what’s inside them, just drop them into hot ever water! Has God tested your faith with a problem What do problems reveal about you?
.
When you have many kinds of troubles, you should be full of joy, because you know that these troubles test your faith, and this will give you patience. (Read James 1:2-3)
.
3. God uses problems to CORRECT you.
Some lessons we learn only through pain and failure. It’s likely that as a child your parents told you not to touch a hot stove. But you probably learned by being burned. Sometimes we only learn the value of something…health, money, a relationship… by losing it.
.
It was the best thing that could have happened to me, for it taught me to pay attention to Your laws. (Read Psalm 119:71-72)
.
4. God uses problems to PROTECT you.
.
A problem can be a blessing in disguise if it prevents you from being harmed by something more serious. Last year a friend was fired for refusing to do something unethical that his boss had

Jennifer Bolt (in picture), mom of Jamaican sprinter, Usain Bolt, presented with a gold pendant in celebration of the dedication and sacrifices she has made for her children. The presentation occurred during the P&G and the IOC partnership announcement in London on Thursday, July 28 where P&G also announced the globalization of the ‘Proud Sponsor of Mom’ campaign and the video series “P&G Momumentary: Raising an Olympian,” where Bolt will provide the type of insight only the mom of an Olympian can.

Mrs Jennifer Bolt, mother of World and Olympic sprint champion Usain Bolt, has also been chosen as the first recepient of the International Mothers of Distinction (IMOD) award.
The inaugural awards ceremony will be held on May 7, 2011 in Toronto.
***
Mrs Bolt was chosen because of the significant impact she has had on the life of her son.
She was lauded for the significant achievements of her son, noting that Usain has brought back a certain excitement to international athletics that was not there in recent times and has elevated the Jamaica “brand” to a level never seen before.

I once read that an ordinance in one of America’s major cities
forbids “walking about aimlessly, with no apparent purpose,
lingering, hanging around, lagging behind, idly spending time,
delaying, sauntering and moving slowly about.”
..
I can’t tell you how disturbed I felt. Some of my best days are
spent like that.
..
But then, I don’t want my whole life to be basically described as
having “no apparent purpose…lagging behind…idly spending
time…delaying” and generally moving about aimlessly. On the other
hand, neither do I want to take myself too seriously. An occasional
day spent doing next to nothing sounds perfectly fine.
..
My problem is that I am usually busy. I schedule tightly and work
long hours. I plan my time and make lists.
..
But it would be a mistake to believe that, just because I am doing
many things, I am necessarily doing the right things. Or, perhaps,
the BEST things. At least if I’m busy, I want to stay busy at things
that matter.
..
News commentator Dan Rather asked himself a vital question several
times a day. Largely because of this one question, he became one of
America’s leading journalists. Rather wrote the question on three
slips of paper. He kept one in his billfold, one in his pocket, and

Hello world, it is with profound sadness that I share the fact that our esteemed friend, Professor Rex Nettleford passed away on February 2nd…..
.
.
PROFESSOR Rex Nettleford, one of Jamaica’s brightest sons and a cultural icon, died in the George Washington University Intensive Care Unit last night, six days after he collapsed in his hotel room in Washington and four hours before his 77th birthday.
.
Nettleford, who suffered a massive heart attack, was admitted to the hospital’s intensive care unit and placed on life support. He never regained consciousness and finally passed at 8:00 pm.
.
Nettleford… was an international icon and quintessential Caribbean man.
He was in the US capital to participate in a fund-raising gala for the University of the West Indies (UWI), where he was vice-chancellor emeritus.
.
Last night, a medical report signed by Dr Christopher Junker of George Washington University said that the life support was terminated in keeping with Professor Nettleford’s wishes.
.
“Mr Nettleford has been under our care at the George Washington University Intensive Care Unit for catastrophic brain injury following a cardiac arrest,” Dr Junker said. “After

I know one man who says he likes work. It fascinates him. He says he
can sit and watch it for hours.
..
He was probably the same guy who went to his supervisor to ask for a
raise.
..
“I am already planning on giving you a raise,” she said.
..
“Oh, great!” he said. “When will it be effective?”
..
“As soon as you are!” shouted the boss. (Do you know that man?)
..
Someone said, “Find a job that you love, and you’ll never work a day
in your life.”
..
Some people are fortunate enough to be able to find a job they love.
But not everyone can follow their bliss into the marketplace. I’ve
had jobs where my motto was closer to “Early to bed and early to
rise, ’till you make enough money to do otherwise.” I had to decide

Many Jamaicans living in Canada are looking for new investment opportunities on the island, in a bid to help strengthen the relationship between the two countries.
“What Jamaicans want to do is own some of Jamaica, so Jamaicans who have lived abroad are thinking now of being owners and collaborating with Jamaicans on new projects,” said Sharon Ffolkes Abrahams, president of the Canadian Diaspora Association.
One of the areas being targeted, Ffolkes Abrahams said, is tourism, which, in her opinion, needs diversification. Possible areas of expansion are health tourism and ecotourism.

Ffolkes Abrahams disclosed that a contingent had arrived in the island ahead of Canadian
