Physical Bodies on Earth

We are on this earth, in our physical bodies, because our souls have things to learn that we could not learn in any other way. It is through our physical body and the physical world that we can experience life. Purely spiritual beings are just that - they are in a state of being rather than doing in a place that is beyond the limitations of time and space. But when we incarnate on the physical plane, we are automatically subject to the laws of physics and the world of dualities. In this place, we know what happiness is because we have experienced sadness, and we understand the value and power of light because we have known darkness. Knowing this, we have the opportunity to let ourselves be spiritual beings having a physical experience.
..There is no pain in the spiritual realm, because we know we are one with the limitless source of the universe. But here, in the material realm, our sense of limitation and separation allows us to feel our emotions and to learn about love,

The clergy were Protestant, and so was the new head of state. But the inauguration Tuesday of President Barack Obama aimed for a much broader audience: an increasingly diverse America, where people want their beliefs acknowledged in the nation’s most important ceremony. In his address, Obama referred to God and Scripture, saying, “the time has come to set aside childish things,” from 1 Corinthians.
But he also reached out to American secularists, calling the United States, “a nation of Christians and Muslims, Jews and Hindus — and nonbelievers.” The Center for Inquiry and the Council for Secular Humanism, based in Amherst, N.Y., called recognition in the inaugural address “truly historic and remarkable.”

On the eve of commemorating the contributions of a great American freedom fighter and philosopher let us take a fresh look at one of the tenets of his dream; “That one day humankind would be freed from the prison of its skin.” Growing up black in a society where the first criteria for determining a person’s value was skin color influenced how I established my own self worth. Over the years, I have been able to escape many of the boundaries that were set by our society but unfortunately, this facet of our barbaric nature remain, and continues to prevent us, as a society, from discovering God’s image and likeness in one another. ***

Jamaica is approximately 146 miles long and approximately 35 miles wide. It is the largest of the English-speaking Caribbean Islands, and the third largest island in the Caribbean. It is extremely mountainous, with the highest point being the Blue Mountain Peak, reaching 7,402 feet. The average rainfall annually is 78 inches with an average annual temperatures of 80F. Jamaica has 120 rivers and is described as the land of wood and water. The Island is considered to be the social and cultural center of the Caribbean. No place else in the Caribbean gives the diversity and attractions that Jamaica offers, consequently experienced travelers who have traveled other Islands, will revisit Jamaica again and again. Jamaica has an abundance of scenic views, crystal clear  turquoise water, glorious white sand, palm-fringe beaches, cascading waterfalls, a rich cultural heritage and several mineral springs, and is extremely diverse in its entertainment.
