“Sometimes our light goes out but is blown again into flame by an encounter with another human being. Each of us owes the deepest thanks to those who have rekindled this inner light.” ~ Albert Schweitzer

We’ve all had times in our life when we desperately needed a “shot of inspiration” to move forward.

May You Be Blessed
by Kate Nowak

It happened a few days after my father’s death, in that mind-numbing period of adjustment after someone we love leaves us. Having gone shopping for necessities for my trip back to my own home, I was standing in an otherwise empty aisle of a large chain store when suddenly I sneezed, the last vestiges of an allergy attack I’d fought earlier in the week.

Almost instantly, from the next aisle over I heard a voice call out, “Bless you,” and then another, and another, and yet another. All in all, in the span of only a few seconds, I counted eleven different voices coming from every possible direction in the store, some saying “God bless you,” others using the word “gezundheit,” but all blessing me, all calling good down upon me.

To Rise Above
Achieving A High Vibration

All matter is made up of energy, and that energy is in motion continually. Everything in the universe, from the smallest molecules to the most complex living beings, has an optimal rate of vibration to keep it healthy. We reach this high vibrational level when we are whole, healthy, and fulfilling our potential. Human beings are able to consciously control these vibrations within themselves using a variety of techniques. We know when we have reached a high vibrational state because we feel good and can sense that we are aligned with all that is. We find we are capable of healing and have good intuition and perception that are a result of our resonating closer and closer to our ideal frequencies.

MOMENTS TO REMEMBER

Have you ever noticed that you do not remember days, you remember
moments?

A strange story about immortalizing moments comes from the book
SPIRITUAL LITERACY (Touchstone Books) by authors Frederic and Mary
Ann Brussat. It is about a Brooklyn cigar store manager named Oggie
Rand. Oggie has an unusual habit — at precisely eight o’clock each
morning, he photographs the front of the store. Always at exactly the
same time and from exactly the same spot. Every morning. Oggie
collects his daily snapshots in photograph albums, each labeled by
date. He calls his project his “life’s work.” Read More

“Manage Your Energy”
An excerpt from
The Essence of Leadership
By Mac Anderson

Not long ago, I had the opportunity to spend some time with best selling author John Maxwell. The conversation turned to how managing your energy can be one of the keys to leadership. John felt that leadership and energy were joined at the hip. It is impossible to have one without the other. He said that it all starts with knowing yourself, knowing your limitations, and knowing when you perform best. The key, for him, is to schedule his most crucial activities when his energy levels are at their peak. John, for example, schedules his important meetings and his writing time in the mornings when he feels the most energized. Activities of less urgency are scheduled in the afternoons.

Also, as he winds down at home in the evenings, he saves an hour or two for writing letters and for light reading. Of course, he said, a schedule doesn’t always cooperate, but following this general philosophy has served him well.

Speaker and author, Jim Cathcart, says that to be at your best, find your zone of optimum velocity by observing the pace and intensity at which you perform best. This is the zone at which you are most creative, unstressed, happy and productive.

++++++++

Above the zone: First you experience stress and frustration, then anxiety, and finally burnout. At this level you are overwhelming yourself with too much to accomplish at one time. Lighten up a bit to get back on track.

++++++++

In the zone: You are at your best. Not stressed, going with the flow of work naturally, productive and self-assured, challenged but not
