 Memorial Day weekend!

Someone sent one of my stories to me without explanation.  I read it and felt strongly that it needed to be shared again.  This is from 2007 so some of you never saw it before.  I write so many

things that when I read it, I didn’t remember it.  So, it’s new for me, too.

.

Whatever your plans this weekend, be safe, I need you.

Love always and all ways,

Bob and Marianne

“Do you like what you do?” she asked me.

“I write about happy things,” I said.

“Wait a minute.  I’ve read your work.  You made me cry sometimes,” she said.

“That makes me happy,” I replied.

our love used to be so true but for every new rose i gave you ..! *(L) .Part[1] by ، Zamoh.

“Well, that’s sick,” she said smiling.

“I don’t make people cry by hurting them.  They often cry from the hurt they have already.

JAMAICA- MONTEGO BAY FROM WENDZEFX by jocelyn postcrossing.

Jamaicans overseas are being urged to invest in their country to help the island weather the current financial hurricane sweeping the globe.

Speaking at the 2009 Jamaica National Building Society’s (JNBS) Outlook for The Future series in London and Birmingham, Jamaican officials said the island was ripe with investment opportunities and needed home-grown investors to capitalise on them.

“It’s an investment paradise as well as a tourism paradise,” said Laurence Jones, regional head of the European arm of the Jamaica Trade Investment (JTI). He told scores of Jamaicans and their descendants, who came out to the Royal Geographical Society in London, that “this is the time we need you to show your commitment to Jamaica”.

A few years ago I read of a Ukraine businessman who bought a pager for
each member of his staff as a New Year’s gift. As he was returning
from the pager shop, all 50 beepers on the back seat of his automobile
simultaneously burst out screeching. He was so alarmed that he drove
his car into a lamp post, just 100 meters from his office.

Today’s message:
“Four things”
By Bob Perks

I wondered why it rained when sun was what
I needed.  Then I realized the rain washed
away the dust that settled so easily on me
as I had recently taken to standing still.

I wondered why life seemed to pass me by.
Then I realized I was not living, just
simply existing.  Living requires participation.
