Today’s Message:

“The Boy and the Fish Sandwich”
By Bob Perks

.

I don’t preach.  I believe, but I can’t conveniently quote the
Bible when those words would come in handy.  I can say
something and mention that I believe it’s ” in there somewhere.”
I even know where to look.

.

It doesn’t make me less Christian, just lazy.

.

Still, God uses me just the way I am.  I understand that’s
how the Apostles got their jobs working for Him, too.  He
took them “just the way they were.”  So, there is hope
for you and I!

.

Every so often I come across something that really strikes
me as incredibly significant.  Something that I must share.

So, I struggle to inspire others with hopes that they, too,
will be overwhelmed by it.

.

I have learned that no one is EVER as enthusiastic about
my ideas as I am.  I saw a movie once that inspired me so
much that when I got out of my car I was literally jumping
in the air.  Someone who saw me thought I won the lottery.
When I explained the movie to them they laughed at me.

I suddenly lost my enthusiasm.

.

But this is significant.

.

You may have heard about Jesus and the loaves and fish.

Great miracle!  Terrific story.

A Candle to Live by by Original_Flowers.

“To celebrate growing older, I once wrote the 45 lessons life taught me. It is the most-requested column I’ve ever written.”My odometer rolled over to 90 in August, so here is the column once more:
****
1. Life isn’t fair, but it’s still good
.2. When in doubt, just take the next small step.

3. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone.
4. Your job won’t take care of you when you are sick. Your friends and parents will. Stay in touch.
5. Pay off your credit cards every month.
6. You don’t have to win every argument. Agree to disagree.
7. Cry with someone. It’s more healing than crying alone.

A Memorial Day Message
.
They were both there the first time he cried. It was a joyful sound. The sound of life beginning and they waited so long to hear it. Mom and Dad were proud of him as they saw his angel face.
He grew to be a young man full of hope and pride. He had dreams and plans for the future. In fact, waiting for him back home was the girl of his dreams. They met at school and just like fairy tales and romance stories this love affair was the kind that was meant to be.

The last time they saw each other they made promises of faithfulness. They talked about the wedding and a dozen or more children of their own. He said “I love you more than anything in this world.” She cried and with tears running softly down her face she said, ” I will wait for you and while we are apart my heart will skip every other beat until your return.” Read More

Road Trips: Spring Wildflowers

They said he died.
.
One morning in 1888, Alfred Nobel, inventor of dynamite, the man who
had spent his life amassing a fortune from the manufacture and sale of
weapons of destruction, awoke to read his own obituary. Of course, it
was a mistake. Alfred’s brother had died, and the reporter
inadvertently wrote Alfred’s obituary.
.
For the first time, Alfred Nobel saw himself as the world saw him –
“the dynamite king,” the great industrialist who had made an immense
fortune from explosives. This, as far as the general public was
concerned, was the entire purpose of his life. None of his true

Colourful Butterfly by Pronghorn's

The man whispered
“God, speak to me.”
And a meadowlark sang
But the man did not hear.

..

So the man yelled
“God speak to me!”
And the thunder rolled across the sky
But the man did not listen.

..

The man looked around and said
“God let me see You.”

With shelter….even the most vulnerable bird can sing.

Image

There once was an incredibly rich man who commissioned two talented artists for a project. The rich man explained that he would pay one million dollars to the artist who was able to paint the perfect picture of “peace”.
..
Several months later, both artists returned with their paintings. The first was the most beautiful image of the sun shining down on fields of glorious flowers, while in the background a rainbow stretched over a tranquil blue lake…it was indeed a “peaceful” picture. The rich man commended the artist for his work and then turned his attention to the second painting.
..
