Sunset from Rick's Cafe by elen_uska_8.

“Solace at Sunset”
By Bob Perks

.

Life appears empty sometimes.  Times like losing
a job, ending a marriage, loss of a loved one, or
financial collapse.

.

All endings.  I guess that’s it.  Things that end remain
empty and hard to fill, replace or let go.

.

Then how do you explain sunsets?

.

It is indeed an end to something or many things.  The
day ends, the celebration concludes, the band stops
playing, the dance is over, the lights go out and we
“call it a day.”

.

Seems empty to me.

.

Why then do we love sunsets?

.

It seems to go so fast when you don’t want the day
to end and much too slow when you can’t wait for it
to be over.

.

My curiosity asked “How long is a sunset?”
My searching found this answer.  Rather factual,

Today’s Message:

“The Boy and the Fish Sandwich”
By Bob Perks

.

I don’t preach.  I believe, but I can’t conveniently quote the
Bible when those words would come in handy.  I can say
something and mention that I believe it’s ” in there somewhere.”
I even know where to look.

.

It doesn’t make me less Christian, just lazy.

.

Still, God uses me just the way I am.  I understand that’s
how the Apostles got their jobs working for Him, too.  He
took them “just the way they were.”  So, there is hope
for you and I!

.

Every so often I come across something that really strikes
me as incredibly significant.  Something that I must share.

So, I struggle to inspire others with hopes that they, too,
will be overwhelmed by it.

.

I have learned that no one is EVER as enthusiastic about
my ideas as I am.  I saw a movie once that inspired me so
much that when I got out of my car I was literally jumping
in the air.  Someone who saw me thought I won the lottery.
When I explained the movie to them they laughed at me.

I suddenly lost my enthusiasm.

.

But this is significant.

.

You may have heard about Jesus and the loaves and fish.

Great miracle!  Terrific story.

Vacation Rental in Nehalem by Clearstay.com.

“Damp, musty and well-worn.”  It certainly wouldn’t catch your attention in a travel brochure.
“No indoor plumbing.  Hand pump for water located in back of the building.”

.

No, that wouldn’t make me want to stay there either.

.

“Out house conveniently located in front of or directly behind your rental.”

.

What?  No way!

.

So why do I long to return to those places of my youth?

The “eyes” have it!
By Bob Perks

.

I can look at you and know the truth. I can see it in your eyes. Blue eyes, brown, whatever they are, they speak to me before you do.

With a passing glance two strangers connect in such a way as to leave them both a bit more fulfilled, complete without ever knowing it.

I have seen the stars at night and stood long enough to feel insignificant in comparison, but I have stood face to face with another soul and looking into their eyes, felt like the most important person in the world or the least.

I have watched the eyes of children dart back and forth, scanning the world around them.
