The father, a well digger,
Strong was he,
And as loving and kind
As a father could be.
~*~
And Mary his daughter,
Just five years old,
Was very much dearer
Than millions in gold.
~*~
To Mary her father
Was big, grand and nice,
So each had a treasure,
Beyond any price.
~*~
One day to the well,
Little Mary was sent
To take daddy’s lunch,
How gladly she went.

Mustard Seed faith - Scotiabank adds comfort to lives of disadvantaged children
Published: Saturday | April 25, 2009
..
Replacing a stolen bus that was used to transport sick and disabled children cared for by the Mustard Seed Communities: $1.9 million.
***
Adding a little comfort to the lives of disadvantaged children so accustomed to discomfort: priceless.
********
On Wednesday, Scotiabank filled a void left by uncouth and callous thieves late last year by donating a spanking new Nissan Caravan

to the Mustard Seed Communities. The bus was handed over at Mustard Seed’s head office on Mahoe Drive in Kingston.

You turned my darkness into light,
You made everything all right.
You picked me up when I was down,
You turned my life around.
If I didn’t have you, what would I be?
A blessing is what you are to me.
(*)
When I needed you the most, you were there,
Even if it seemed like you didn’t care.
When I didn’t think I could make it another day,
You chased all my doubts away.
If I didn’t have you, what would I be?
A treasure is what you are to me.

By Bob Perks
Don’t tell me you can’t go home.
I just came back from there.
My phone rang early last Saturday morning.
“Hey, did you see in the paper that 466 is
having a house sale?” my brother asked.
“No, are they really?”
“Yes. I think we’re going down later just
walk through it.”
466 is the house number of the home we lived
in when I was growing up. I lived in a
community that always stayed close to where
you were born. Families rarely moved away
back then. That is until the kids graduated
high school. Then it appears that most
of my class mates left the area.

Imagine there is a bank that credits your account each morning with $86,400. It carries over no balance from day to day. Every evening deletes whatever part of the balance you failed to use during the day.
..
What would you do? Draw out every cent, of course! Each of us has such a bank. Its name is TIME. Every morning, it credits you with 86,400 seconds. Every night it writes off, as lost, whatever of this you have failed to invest to good purpose.
..
It carries over no balance. It allows no overdraft. Each day it opens a new account for you. Each night it burns the remains of the day. If you fail to use the day’s deposits, the loss is yours. There is no going back. There is no drawing against the “tomorrow”.
..
You must live in the present on today’s deposits. Invest it so as to get from it the utmost in health, happiness and success!
